This especially charming hand-embroidered child's prayer
is beautifully executed with tiny cross stitches. It depicts the familiar "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" bedtime prayer with a
modernized
happier
close than that of the original. A
big Giraffe stands at the left of the text and a whimsical elephant is seated holding a balloon bouquet at the right. A fanciful row of flowers with scrolling leaves connect the two beneath the text. Other decorative details include a butterfly above the Giraffe; another at the end of the text; and the first letters of select words are extra-big in stand-out colors. Its beautiful, deep, solid wood frame is made of honey-colored oak and has a gleaming high gloss finish. This piece
is in flawless condition with the exception of damage to the
back
of one corner -not at all visible when the painting is wall mounted. Top quality and absolutely delightful.

Exceptionally EXCELLENT. All original, fully intact and structurally sound. Colors are bright and vivid on super white linen fabric. There is no evidence of fading; no missing, loose or lifting stitches; and there are absolutely no marks, spots or stains. The quality of the handwork is excellent as is that of the gleaming solid honey oak frame. On the back of the frame, one of the corners is damaged -this is NOT visible from the front. A magnified photo is attached. A sawtooth metal bar is securely attached to the back for wall hanging. There is no glass within the frame as is typical for this type of artwork. Super clean and completely odor-free.*
